Please find the following changes and updates to MWS

  • After 10 years of negotiations, HSIF funding, and community collaboration, Mawlugutineg was incorporated in 2019. 
  • MOU with Metepnagiag, Horizon, and Vitalité 2018
  • NIHB. - Mawlugutineg Contribution Agreement 
  • ED hired in April 2020
  • Clinical staff recruited July 2020 
  • Celebrated 1 year anniversary August 2020 
  • Connecting with RCMP to support more positive relations with the surrounding detachments ( Blackville, Neguac, Tracadie, Sunny Corner, Bathurst and Dalhousie)
  • Collaboration with the RCMP on " Situation Table " for high-risk community members. 
  • Working with GNB?HHN to secure services of Dr. Andrew Dutcher. 
  • Ongoing response to community crisis - draft policy established. 
  • Firekeepers Ceremony Youth Training ( October 15 - 18 & March 2 -5 ) 
  • Community Healing Teams 
  • October MMIWG Vigils supported by team 
  • Collaboration with Natoaganeg on a Women's Transition House 
  • Regular staff debriefs / gatherings / professional development - Fridays 
  • ASIST Training held in Miramichi Dec 5 -6, 2021 
  • Staff healing and debrief Metepenagiag November 10th 
  • Collaboration / input to NSMDC Health Transformation process 
  • Support planning of APC Mental Wellness Conference ( Feb 2021 ) 
  • Collaboration with " Bridge the Gap" in populating Indigenous content to new virtual resources 
  • Strong collaboration / relationships with Miramchi mental health and addictions - cultural teachings, referrals, crisis response etc. 
  • Supporting a comforting counselling room in communities
  • Moved to a new location - 40 Micmac Road Eel Ground 
  • Multiple collaborations to support clients' needs including housing, food security, family relations (CFS) Jordan's Principle, Integrated Service Delivery (ISD), MVHS, NBES, BHS, Sugarloaf, ASD-N.
